Started in 1983, the UK Commonwealth Scholarship is one of the most prestigious scholarships in the world. There are several steps to apply for Commonwealth Scholarships. Candidates are randomly selected for this scholarship through several stages of selection after initial application. About 1500 students get Commonwealth scholarship after selection every year. Students from all Commonwealth countries are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Bangladeshi students can also apply for Commonwealth Scholarships. Since its inception in 1983, around 35,000 students have received this Commonwealth Scholarship so far.
Eligibility for Commonwealth Scholarship
Only students from Commonwealth countries can apply for Commonwealth Scholarships. Since Bangladesh is a Commonwealth country, Bangladeshi students are eligible to apply for this scholarship. However, there are some other conditions for the Commonwealth Scholarship and they are:

Have a research plan
Must have leadership skills

The full tuition fees for Masters or Ph.D. will be borne by the Commonwealth Commission.
Air ticket costs to and from the UK will be borne by the Commonwealth Commission.
A monthly allowance will be paid if outside London.
Apart from the monthly allowance, lump sum will be paid.
Money will be available as ‘Study travel grunt’ and ‘thesis grunt’.

Commonwealth Scholarship 2023 Application Process
1. Students have to fill the specified application form from the official website of UGC. Enter the official website of UGC and provide all information including group/subject side year, total marks, GPA/CGPA and percentage of marks obtained for SSC HSC Graduate and Post Graduate (if any) in the prescribed form.
2. If the applicant has any publications, their description, IELTS score (if any) and one copy of passport size photograph should be attached to the application and sent to the specified address.
